My First Actually Completely Finished Quilt!
Yes, i FINISHED a project! Like I bound it too, not just quilted it and called it a day! I made this tumbler quilt for my auntie, who loved it!
It was actually quite cheap to make as i got the fabric ALL on sale. The backing was about 4$ a meter, and the front was pieced out of fat quarters on sale for about 2 bucks a piece. I love sale bins :)

Self Portrait
I've recently come to the end of my first real relationship and needless to say i have changed and grown. we had a lot of rough drafts together but it wasn't till now that I've done some for just myself. This project was my reflection of how i would perceive and love me if i were my lover, to appreciate myself, the good and the bad.
I started with a circle of paper, i liked the confines of a starting point and the freedom of a small "canvas" (that is easily thrown away if need be, like i said rough drafts and forgiveness!). Each paper has a characteristic on it which is illustrated by the mood of the colour and decorations. on the back of them i wrote a quote or fact supporting its cause, for example i am "sensual" because i like dark chocolate, massages and baths with lavender... i think thats pretty sexy don't you? ;) It was interesting to see how arranged together they made a web of my personality, the colours turned out to fall into corresponding groups such as truthfullness (light), passion (bright) and neurotic (dark). however at the time i was focused on loving myself and grouped most of the bad characteristics under one heading to make a happy yet realistic portrait :)
I used white cardstock and acrylic paints, sandpaper, some other papers for embelishments and various notions (buttons, charms, found photos, fake flower parts) and just covered a box to make them a home, or a body if you will!

Pretty Things
A Lovely Vintage Morning
So today i tried to clean up a bit... and what i made was a beautiful mess... and then i stopped to take pictures of it along the way... then i ran into a dress I'm halfway done and so decided to put on some cat's eyes and take a picture of that too. sorry i couldn't get a better view of the body of it but there's only so much one girl can do. By the way the secret to eyeliner is all in the tape lines ;)

Distressed Gold Paper Tutorial
So i was playing around with paints and paper and i figured out a way to make it the paper look like distressed gold so i decided to make a tutorial. unfortunately the computer decided to make it hard for me to illustrate it... sorry for the small pictures! 1. you will need acrylic paint (I used gold, cadmium red, and ultramarine blue), water, paper towl, a pallet, card stock, rough sandpaper 2 & 3. use a piece of paper towel and some water to smudge and dab gold paint lightly onto the card stock. 4. mix a bit of blue with the gold and apply it to the corners using the the same method. blend. 5. mix some red paint with the gold and apply over the blue areas. 6. sand the edges to give a worn look and scumble it across the surface to add scratches and imperfections.
